The expected VS the unexpected

I am known at work for producing handmade presents for people. So this weekend was the expected vs the unexpected. The machine embroidered spit cloths for a girl at work's baby, and then the exploration piece where I needle felted and embellished. I had seen a tip to sew the folded binding on the back and flip to the front and use a decorative stitch to secure. I am liking it, and perhaps I will never handsew another binding!

New Horizons

Turning 50 has an effect on everybody. They might say it doesn't, but it does. Some people choose to get old, some people decide to frantically pursue youth, but others use this time to become the person they have always wanted to be....and were too busy with kids, job, etc to explore. I still keep very busy but I have decided creativity is going to take a front seat in the years to come.
